Why Do I Need a Support Plan?

Your website runs off of software. Software needs updating periodically to make sure it stays up to date. Why does it need to stay up to date? Software is never 100%. It constantly needs updating because of security fixes, optimization to how well it runs, new features which help the functionality of your site and many more reasons. 

Think of it this way. Take your smart phone. Every so often, you get software updates for your phone and the apps that run on it. This is EXACTLY the same case for your website. 

Why Can't I Just Update My Own Website?

You CAN! There is nothing holding you back from clicking away on that update button. But before you do, do you know WHY the plugin is being updated? Do you know if that update is going to play nice with the other plugins on your site? If you make this update on your site, will it break? Are you following each and every single plugin changelog to make sure that this update is even necessary for your website at this time? I DO! I am following everything to make sure it will work on your site. I make sure the update is necessary and make sure it will work on your website. I test all major updates before pushing it live to your main website. 

Ok So How Much Will Support Cost?

Pricing is below for our plans. If you have a shop on your site, you will need the “Maintain It” package at a MINIMUM. Why? Because e-commerce websites need a lot more care when it comes to supporting, updating and making sure everything works. 

If you have a brochure site with just company information, then the lower cost plans are right for you!

Every small business owner should have a professional email.  It lends to credibility and professionalism.  Using Google’s GSuite, we’ll set up your professional email account tied to your business name.  After a short free trial period, Google will bill you directly $6/user per month.  Here’s what’s included with our service:

  • We ensure that everything is in working order sending and receiving emails
  • We properly format your business logo to fit within the space allowed by Google
  • We add your digital signature to your settings so that it shows up at the bottom of the emails you send. It can even include a link to your website.
  • GSuite’s initial setup defaults to a $12/month option.  We are familiar with how to transfer your account to the $6/month plan before that first bill hits
  • We will setup email accounts for up to 5 employees/users
  • We provide you with your username / password (that can be changed) to access your new email
  • We provide you with the information you’ll need to access your new Admin area (where you can add users, change your billing etc.)

**Transferring emails from old accounts to new G-Suite accounts is not included. There is a $17.00 transfer fee per email address.

Every small business should have a website, and every website needs a domain name. We work with our preferred domain registrar to purchase your domain name of choice. We also ensure your privacy by hiding your name/address from the registrar database at no additional cost to you. Our service saves you time and money. Before making the domain name purchase, we communicate with you to confirm whether your first choice is available and what your options may be.

 

Cost covers (1) one year of domain registration. Annual renewals are required at same or slightly higher/lower price based on third-party pricing which is outside of WWDM control. Domain name is purchased through Wattz Web Design and Marketing account. This ensures that your personal information is never made available to the public without having to purchase “domain privacy” at an additional cost. We manage the upkeep of your domain for as long as you’d like us to. This includes notifying you of yearly renewals and billing you directly to ensure that your domain remains active and available to you. If you ever want full control, just ask and we’ll immediately start the process of transferring the domain directly into your personal account. Initial cost covers standard domain name and not those considered “premium” domains which are billable at inflated prices due to popularity or demand. Purchase of this service assumes a “.com” domain if not noted otherwise (e.g., .biz, .org, .edu etc.)

Text support is a great way to chat with us if you have a quick question about your website, how to do something on your site or just a check in. You’ll have access to my direct number to ask any questions you have. Text support turn around time for answers is usually within 15 minutes during business support hours.

All the features of the “Need Help” care plan above for a one-time fee of $200 and up to one hour of fixes and updates, along with recommendations for continued health based on our observations. This is perfect for the existing WordPress website that may be displaying unusual behavior or having other peculiar issues. Contact us before getting started if you have questions.
